Visit Bursledon Brickworks, the last surviving steam-driven brickworks in the country.
This Victorian Grade II Listed complex, with its own restored steam engine, holds special activity days featuring traction and stationary engines, steam rollers and traditional craft demonstrations, including the opportunity to `throw your own brick'.
Volunteers will be busy restoring the mineral light railway, huge excavators and machinery. A fascinating insight into our industrial heritage.
The Museum has vast collections and exhibitions of the brick and tile making industry, plus related historic building crafts and techniques. Rides available on the narrow guage railway and steam engine carriage on our Sunday Open Days - fun for all the family. Group bookings can be arranged.
