The Wool House was built as a warehouse for the medieval wool trade. Now it is a museum telling the story of the port of Southampton. Find out all about the great liners that sailed from Southampton. Discover the real story of the Titanic through original artefacts and the voices of local people whose lives were affected by the tragedy.

Road Directions

From M3 exit at J13 for M27 West. Exit at J3, M271, signed WestQuay and Waterfront. At roundabout at the far end, turn left and follow signs for the Waterfront. At t/light junction with Novotel to the left, go straight on and straight across at the roundabout. Bugle Street is to the left, with the Museum on the corner facing the water.
For parking turn left into High Street, and park in Gloucester Square. For parking up to 2 hrs, turn right opposite the museum and then into Mayflower Park

Public Transport Directions

Nearest station is Southampton Central. From the platform 4 exit, take the free City Link shuttle bus to Town Quay. The museum is a 3 minute walk from Town Quay, and immediately opposite the entrance to the Red Funnel Isle of Wight ferry terminal.
