Tudor House Museum and Garden

Tudor House was built in 1495. Over the centuries it has been a family home and an artist's studio, and housed businesses including a dye-house and a bookbinder. You can explore the history of this fascinating building through the lives of some of the people who lived here, and enjoy a stroll in the authentically reconstructed 16th century Tudor Knot Garden. Entry phone access for wheelchair users at south end of building. Wheelchair access to ground floor exhibitions, garden and toilets. Stairs to first floor.

Road Directions

From M3 southbound, exit at J13, signed M27 West. Once on M27 exit at J3, the M271. Stay in the left hand lane and filter onto M271. Approach the roundabout in the left lane and follow signs West Quay/Waterfront. As you approach the City Centre you will branch off to the right. Go straight on at the t/light junction with Novotel to the left and straight ahead at roundabout. Bugle Street is to the left. Tudor House is situated in the upper part of Bugle Street on the left hand side.
From Southampton Tourist Information: Move into the left hand lane of Civic Centre Road and turn left into Portland Terrace. Continue straight ahead into Castle Way and follow this to the next traffic lights, then turn right into Lower High Street. At the next lights turn right onto Town Quay Road and then right into Bugle Street.
Parking: Mayflower Park off Town Quay Road for 2 hours parking, or for longer parking turn left off the High Street into Gloucester Square for long term parking.
